NOVEMBER 3RD, OVER 70 PEOPLE FROM SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY
CAME TO HONOR SOME FASCINATING SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FROM
15 OF THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST YOUNG STARS IN SAN LUIS
OBISPO COUNTY.
The
Discovery Institute for the Advancement of Science and
Technology Education recently sponsored the Young Scientist
Recognition Banquet, honoring middle-school, high-school,
and college-level student research in science, engineering,
and technology.
All students selected to attend the banquet received certificate
of achievement and selected prizes.
During
the banquet the students shared their science, math, or
technology projects they have completed or are still working
on with us through a poster presentation and on-stage
interviews with radio talk-show celebrity, Dave Congalton.
The evening included remarks from some of our local dignitaries,
including San Luis Obispo Mayor - Dave Romero, former
mayor of Morro Bay - Rodger Anderson, and San Luis Obispo
County Supervisor - Jerry Lenthall.
